Divafest 2016

We do a lot of different events at MWFB.  But some of our best, are the ones that involve our entire team.  This past Friday night, we held DIVAFEST at the Radisson Hotel and ballroom.  (we probably took up more space than that)  Over 30 staff members got together to help pull it off.  It was all planned and executed by our air-talents, sales reps, support staff AND some very AWESOME clients of ours!  Thanks to everyone for making it a great night!

Big Bikes for Little Tikes 2016 goes in the record books for our coldest ride yet.  Thanks to all our 300+ friends and riders that came out to support Elliot and to those of you that made a direct donation to the cause.  We enjoyed a successful day riding for a reason.  Our Big Bikes child, Elliot Heller and his family were at registration, drove the entire 113 miles and joined us for the post ride party.  Great route, great stops, great party.  Thanks to all of our listeners, friends, partners and sponsors.  We appreciate your support and we’ll see you at Big Bikes 2017!

A Night For Hope

About a month ago, we learned of an upcoming community event, “A Night For Hope”, being planned for February 29th.  Mid-West Family Broadcasting reached out to Al Bliss, Coordinator of the La Crosse County Heroin and Other Illicit Drug Task Force, to see if there was a way for us to help.  We spread the word on all of our radio stations about the free event for those that wanted to attend and were able to stream the event live from the Cargill Room on our website.

The evening started with a Family’s Journey from Addiction to Recovery.   This family speaks very candidly about the emotional, physical and financial toll that accompanied their son Tyler’s 11 year addiction and recovery.  Following, was a panel of law enforcement, health care professionals and educators that spoke about the epidemic facing our community.  The statistics are shocking.  They eloquently address current efforts in the community on prevention, treatment, addiction, law enforcement, medial efforts and more.

I highly recommend taking the time to watch this video of “A Night For Hope”.  It is extremely educational, shocking and inspiring. The first step in helping as a community, is learning what we are up against.
